Sean is a licensed architect and Partner of Mitchell Garman Architects. After earning both Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from Montana State University, Sean quickly moved to Texas in 1993. A LEED Accredited Professional since 2004, Sean is a champion of sustainable design, including the first LEED-Platinum Science Building in the State of Texas, located at Richland College. In 2009, he also achieved his certification for Laboratory Design and Safety from the Harvard School of Public Health. For over three decades he has worked across a broad range of project types including hospitality, higher education, science laboratory, healthcare, and custom residential; earning numerous accolades, certifications and awards by USGBC and AIA Dallas.
Sean’s work has appeared in a variety of publications such as D Magazine, Texas Monthly, Texas Magazine, Texas Construction, Fort Worth Telegram and Columns Magazine. Sean has presented at numerous local, state and national conventions as well as been guest juror and instructor at local universities. He has served on the Board of Directors for AIA Dallas [2013-2016] as well as the Texas Society of Architects [2015, 2016]. In 2018 Sean became a certified North Texas Master Naturalist.
Sean’s curious mind feeds his passion for travel, fondness for music, and love for people. You may often find him “festivaling” around the globe, enjoying music and culture be it a music festival in London, a medieval festival in Portugal, or a “chowdah” festival in his home state of Rhode Island.
